Back To Basics is a song about waking up to reality, eliminating any ounce of naivety and accepting the need to change. The Francos’ latest single tells the story of a relationship, not between two people, but between one’s self and their aspirations. After releasing two EP’s in the space of 12 months, the three piece from Wollongong, Australia are leaving their old mindset of highly sophisticated songs with heavy musical content in exchange for a hooky, accessible and modern tune.
Like their previous work, Back To Basics was recorded by the band in their home studio setups, but this time against the odds; Xavier Lardner recorded his bass part the day before his three month European vacation, Alec Adams recorded drums after recovering from a broken thumb, while Ben Cauduro recorded the rest, as well as taking mixing and mastering duties.
